why you need tattoo PREcare (not just aftercare)

before i start this post, i want to put a disclaimer out there that EVERYONE’s SKIN IS DIFFERENT so when in doubt pleaseee check with your tattooist or if it’s serious with a doctor!

BACKSTORY:

so for EVERY SINGLE one of my tattoos so far, after removing the second skin, i had this dark patch/outline over the tattoo where the second skin protective film was…. and i was so concerned because my friends with tats have never experienced this and i even for the matching tattoo i got with my bestie, her tat was completely fine!

i tried to search it up but it seems like rarely anyone else gets this kind of outcome… in fact, i’ve seen worse. some people got BLISTERS after removing the second skin film!!

so the point of my post here is, you need to MOISTURISE even before the taking off the film, just around the border of it. in fact, MOISTURISE EVERY DAY!!!!! it is likely that my skin had been too dry and the second skin used to protect the tattoos irritated it leaving that ugly mark.

good news is: they all fade away completely after 3-6 months. BUT THAT IS SUCH A LONG TIME sometimes you want to show off your tat immediately right .. yeah so avoid making the same mistakes as me and remember to moisturise !!!!!!

so for my most recent tattoo, i started applying moisturiser/body lotion weeks before getting the tat, and around the second skin border after getting it.

Nature Republic Aloe Vera

i bought this in korea like the huge tub, my friends were like there is no way you’ll finish that. guess what — i finished it LOL it’s amazing for tattoos!!

First Aid Beauty Moisturiser

this is a face moisturiser but can be used on the body too and it’s amazing for dry skin and it’s fragrance free!!! it’s pricey but super good i promise!

Innisfree Green Tea body lotion

i don’t have a habit of applying body lotion, but recently my mom and my friends have been nagging me, and i finally found one that isn’t sticky or has an overpowering scent!! i actually apply this every day now and i think i need to get another bottle soon…

NOW:

if you see my most recent tattoo, it looks great compared to my previous tats despite that placement having more sensitive skin! (inner arm) it’s been a few days since i have removed the protective film, and there are no marks at all!!
