Look GOOD in jeans when you know your Body Type

Hello everyone! I’m back with another #MyFashionHacks . While fashion trends are cool, they look different on everyone and just because something is trendy, does not mean that we have to wear it. I used to be a trend seeker and would buy trendy things only to realise that those pieces don’t actually look good on me or they only seemed cute because they were trendy at some point. But we’re glowing up and shopping more sustainably and better now!

Here, I’m comparing two pairs of jeans (bottoms that literally everybody has in their closet). One of them is the infamous Levi’s 501 Jeans and the other is a more budget friendly pair that I recently purchased from Cotton On. I compared how the high-waisted jeans look on me versus the low-waisted ones from Cotton On.

The verdict

I am built relatively petite with a shorter torso and longer legs ratio. So wearing things highwaisted can sometimes make me look stout or a little awkward especially when the pants sit too high above my hips which makes it look like I barely have a torso. I also prefer elongating my frame since I’m already quite ‘short’ (🙄 I prefer less tall but anyways). Hence, I prefer the low-waisted jeans in comparison to the high waisted ones. The more expensive, highly raved Levi’s actually lost to my Cotton On ones!

I know that low-waisted jeans are trendier now but there was a time where high-waisted jeans were all the hype in 2015 (and in the 90’s and so forth). Trends are cyclical so experiment with different fits and just wear what looks best on you!
