Welcome back to my solo travel diaries! This is day 2 of my itinerary, if youβre looking for Solo travel tips or where I stayed (how it looks) you can find them under my profile π
I did a lot in Day 2 and Iβm actually a skinny legend when Iβm travelling because I clock over 30k steps everyday. Meanwhile Iβm getting 5k if itβs a good day in Singapore πππ»
πItinerary
Morning:
Breakfast - crepe (β¬6)
1. Eiffel Tower (β¬10.40)
I picked the option where you climb to the 2nd floor of the Eiffel Tower then take the elevator to the top. But I was still recovering from my really bad flu (felt worse than covid) and I was dying on the climb. Also I donβt know why I thought 2nd floor would feel like climbing to the 2nd floor of a HDB π€‘ The second floor was probably 15 building floors upβ¦. But anyways it was the budget option and the queue was much faster!
β¨Tipsβ¨
- book early, tickets sell fast but you can purchase on the day itself thatβs what I did
- budget tips: book as a student they donβt verify haha and if you can climb to the 2nd floor then pick that Itβs cheaper and faster
2. Lunch near the Louvre - 1st arrondissement (β¬25)
I picked this because I wanted to eat by the streets π§ββοΈ it was okay, got a main + dessert (lunch set) + latte! If youβve read my other posts, youβd know itβs expensive to eat out in Paris π
3. The Louvre (β¬17+β¬5)
Itβs massive (thatβs what she said) and Iβm not even kidding. I donβt know why I always thought the Louvre was just the triangle glass but itβs not, itβs a fortress and once a palace. You can spend a day here and not finish the exhibits. I spent about 5 hours here and got the audio tour for 5 euros, itβs worth it!
Saw the Mona Lisa from afar because I wasnβt going to queue π§ββοΈ Iβve visited the MoMA in NYC and this TOPS. Please donβt miss the Louvre if youβre going to Paris
β¨Tipsβ¨
- You can get cheaper tickets online (get the student or EU option), also just book early!
4. The Seine: Notre Dame, Shakespeare and Company
Snacks: croissant + eclair (~β¬6)
I walked to the Seine (river) from the Louvre. It was a pretty long walk but I got to see many cute shops! The Notre Dame was under construction so couldnβt go in. Walking along the Seine was really nice especially if you enjoy people watching!
Headed to Shakespeare & Company (famous book store in Paris) and if I had more luggage space and cash I wouldβve bought something. Itβs exactly what you think an old book store will look like in the movies. You could feel its life and age walking in it.
5. Dinner (β¬30)
This was the best pasta Iβve ever had in my life and I only had 25% of my smell abilities then. I did not know al dente until I tried this πππ (f pasta bar)
Follow me for more Paris content π Iβve got my Barcelona itinerary coming up too!! And I stayed in a hostel for half the price π¬
