I tried to be that girl... hair? outfit??

Who the hell is “that girl”? - well, she’s you on a good day! The day you dedicate an extra hour each for your hair, skin and outfit. That sounds like a lot of work, even for me and I tend to spend too much time pondering over my outfit when I’ve already told my friend that I’m on my way. So I tried to make looking like a #CleanGirl or #ItGirl or #ThatGirl a little bit easier for days when I just don’t have that much time. And to share it with you guys too!

Breaking down the *Clean Girl Aesthetic*

👱🏻‍♀️Hair: #MatildaDjerf uses the Dyson Hair Wrap to achieve a quick blowout look. If you have that, perfect (I’m jealous)! Else, read further 💅🏻

👗Outfit: It’s clean. The silhouette and cuts are clean. No stretched out jersey cotton, we want a nice fitting top that looks expensive (even if it’s not pricey)

💍Jewellery: Minimal or the infamous $700 Apple Headphones (I’m guilty, I love them)

How I tried to be #ThatGirl

👩🏻Hair: 2 Ways actually. I used a hair curling iron and it helped achieve the no-frizz soft curls. Choose a larger barrel for softer, bouncier curls. You can also add an additional step by putting your heat-treated curls onto hair-rollers for more voluminous curls. The 2nd way allows you to save time in the morning. You can curl your hair overnight simply by wrapping your slightly damp hair around a soft rod that you wear on your head as you sleep (it sounds funny but it worked for me). That trick is all over tiktok and you can buy it on Shopee. Or just use the tie from your bathing robe.

#Tip : It gets really humid in Singapore which causes our hair to frizz. Use a lightweight leave-in conditioner to prevent that

👗Outfit: I stuck to the neutral colors but wanted something slightly more feminine, hence the choice of silk and satin fabrics. And obviously, thigh high boots to elevate the look.

💍Jewellery: You can’t go wrong with Gold. 18K gold is affordable yet has a nice finish to it. I’m also saying this because I rarely wear silver so I’m biased.
