Our 2nd PWS @ NTU: Why, How & Tips 🤍💡

We did BOTH an overseas AND local shoot, and I have NO REGRETS 😭 each was an experience of its own, and fun in its own way!

📌 𝓦𝓱𝔂 𝓪 𝓛𝓸𝓬𝓪𝓵 𝓢𝓱𝓸𝓸𝓽

Yes, we DID do a TW PWS, and that was bc TW was our first travel together + we wanted to take the opportunity to travel 😹

But I have also always wanted to do a PWS in NTU bc that’s literally where I met 👦🏻 just for the memories! 🥰

📌 𝓗𝓸𝔀 𝓦𝓮 𝓟𝓾𝓵𝓵𝓮𝓭 𝓘𝓽 𝓞𝓯𝓯

We purchased a 7-hour actual day photography package with ericchan.photography, and set off to NTU after our friends’ wedding on 11 Nov 🫢

Our consideration was to do it after one of the wedding days simply bc I didn’t want to incur 2x cost for gown rental and MUA!

📌 𝓞𝓾𝓻 𝓔𝔁𝓹𝓮𝓻𝓲𝓮𝓷𝓬𝓮

The shoot was fun bc it was full of candid moments!! We felt like we could be ourselves 🥰 AND who knew NTU could turn out to be so pretty in our photos 🥹

Contrary to our shoot in TW which was mainly directed by a professional team, we were given a lot more autonomy in deciding how we wanted to pose (but ofc, also some guidance when we were stuck)!

📌 𝓞𝓾𝓻 𝓥𝓮𝓷𝓭𝓸𝓻𝓼

I have ZERO complaints about Eric and in fact, highly recommend him! I wanted quality photos but also didn’t want to pay exorbitant prices - Eric was both! We engaged him for 7 hours at $898, and these 7 hours included 4 hours of our wedding lunch before we travelled to NTU for the shoot.

We got back HUNDREDS of photos (there were so many I didn’t wanna count - happy problem 😹), and there were so many candid and beautiful shots that I can’t even decide which is my favourite!

💄 Makeup & Hair - chloe_makeup_sg

I know my curls tied towards the end but it WAS a full day of makeup & hair from 7-ish am up till 6pm 🫣 I LOVED how the makeup turned out though!! It looks so stunning in the shots even after so long 😭

🤍 Gown & Suit - odelia.studio

The gown was a right balance of simple and elegant for me - I absolutely love it! The gown may look quite sleek tho but honestly it was rather heavy to carry around 😹 BUT not as bad as other gowns I have tried, and easier to walk around than a mermaid 🧜🏼‍♀️

📌 𝓞𝓾𝓻 𝓣𝓲𝓹𝓼

- For brides, I think lightweight gowns would be SO much easier to move around in 😭 I was sweating buckets throughout this shoot LOL

- BRING A FAN!!! SG weather is horrendous to do a shoot in compared to our TW experience 🫠

- Have a car if there is travelling involved - even in NTU, it was painful to travel from point to point, TRUST ME. We had a friend who drove and stayed with us till the end - OUR SAVIOUR!! 😭

- For brides, you can wear slippers! 🩴 we learnt this from our TW PWS experience, where I wore slippers throughout. Probably better if you have a small height diff with your husband 😹 I stayed in heels throughout here though bc my gown was too long and I didn’t want to risk tripping over!

- If you want to maximise your shoot hours and change conveniently, we saw how the TW PWS crew brought out a HUGE portable / foldable tent ⛺️ saves you the trouble of finding a nearby toilet to get changed!

📌 𝓔𝓷𝓭𝓷𝓸𝓽𝓮

I don’t think there’s a “right” or “wrong” whether you choose between an overseas or local shoot, or where you want to do your shoots. Most importantly, you’re happy with the experience and even better, if the place holds memories for you! Then you’ll have something to look back on fondly 🤍
