The gym can become very consuming and isolating if you create a “negative” relationship around it and a restrictive approach! Life is meant to be lived and the gym is an aid for the health and longevity in order to live a long healthy life.
Current health/gym changes I’ve made recently to enjoy life better and have a balanced relationship with the gym:
1. Limiting caffeine. I personally removed coffee from my diet because I enjoy having an energy drink during my gym time. If I have coffee anymore, it’s strictly decaf!
2. Full balanced meals. I use to restrict my diet and eat the smallest meals that couldn’t even provide me the carbs or fats I needed on a daily basis. Now, I eat huge meals that are nutrient packed and fueling my body for the better!
3. Reading while doing cardio! It distracts me in a healthy way that’s good for me intellectually and it’s something I love to do!
4. Strength training over hypertrophy training. This just essentially means I’m doing lower reps focusing on weight!
5. Eating out!!!! This is something that a lot of people fear, but in moderation it’s amazing for you emotionally and socially!
