Going to Sweden for holiday but don’t know what to do? I just spent 3 weeks there and here are all the spots y’all have to visit!

📍Gamla Stan

If y’all are in Stockholm you have to visit Gamla Stan, there r so many historic buildings and monuments to see plus cute shops and cafes to visit! I recommend paying for entry at the Storkyrkan which is Stockholms Cathedral. It is one of the oldest churches in Stockholm and it still maintains it’s late medieval appearance in the form of a hall church! Was in awe of the architecture and how well preserved everything was🤩 Ticket prices are SEK 85 (around $10sgd) and free entry up to 18 yrs old which is rly affordable!

The jelly cat store is also here I’m not sure what it was called but if your at the stretch where all the shops are you’ll definitely spot it! The jelly cats here are a lot more cheaper than Singapore’s and there r so many different kinds! This shop also sells accessories and cute little knick knacks which are around the price range of $10-$20sgd.

📍 Cafe Valvet

Also at Gamla Stan, we stopped here for fika which is a Swedish tradition to rest and enjoy a tea break. The pastries here were so delectable and the cafe itself was so cozy🥰 I got the hot chocolate, canoli and chocolate ball which was around $20sgd in total but I highly recommend trying the chocolate ball. I’m pretty sure it’s a Swedish traditional pastry as I see it in every cafe and supermarket I go to!

📍Södermalm

If you love thrifting like me, you have to go to Södermalm! It’s a thrift area in Stockholm with so many vintage shops to visit! One of my favourite stores was Beyond Retro which is a huge store which sold all types of curated clothings from brands like Levi, Tommy, Calvin Klein, Nike etc. Clothing varies from sports bras, jeans, shorts, jorts, graphic tees, sweaters, mini skirts, bikinis and they even sell vintage hand bags and caps! It’s definitely worth the visit!

Stores to visit at Södermalm:

- Beyond Retro, Modern Retro, Emmaus Vintage, POP Stockholm

📍Grona Lund Theme Park

LOVED this theme park, honestly if your someone that likes thrill and adrenaline this place is for you. We only had to queue less than 10 minutes for all the rides which was awesome as we went on a Saturday. I recommend buying the tickets earlier as you can select the rides you want for the fast pass. There was also a haunted house which was only an additional $7sgd. (Go with friends!🫢) Entry fee for the park was around $50sgd which is so affordable compared to USS here! 10/10 recommend coming here!

📍T-CENTRAL station

If you love to shop this area is for you. There are so many shops here such as H&M, Zara, Monki, Weekday, Urban Outfitters, Brandy Melville etc! And the best thing is that they are all close to each other! A new store i discovered in Sweden was Weekday. They sell clothes for men and women who have more of an edgy yet simple style! If you know Motel Rocks, this store has a similar vibe to it but clothes here are a lot more affordable! Price range is around $15-$30sgd

📍Winner house at Sundbyberg

If your missing Asian food, don’t worry cuz I’ve got just the right place for you. This restaurant had one of the best Chinese food I’ve ever had which is so ironic HAHAHA the waiters also gave us complimentary popiah, keropok and goreng pisang😭💗 the service was amazing but it is more on the pricier side, we ordered 3 dishes which was about $75sgd. But the Asian food in Sweden is generally more expensive. Would 100% visit this place again once I’m back!

📍The Liffey

This Irish pub is also at Gamla Stan and it’s a must to go with friends, they have Karaoke nights every Fridays at 9pm and Live music on Fridays and Saturdays! I recommend ordering the bangers and mash ($23sgd), the burgers were mid as the portion size was a little too small for my preference. I recommend getting the cocktails and Irish beer too! We tried this banana bread beer cuz it sounded unique but it did not have the banana bread taste at all which was a lil disappointing😔 But overall a 8/10 experience, after eating ur food head downstairs to get ready to sing! Price range is around $20-$35sgd

//During my last week in Sweden I decided to visit my friend in Malmo which is a city in Sweden, 4-5hr train ride away from Stockholm. So if y’all are planning to travel around Sweden, I recommend heading to malmo! Check out V Malmo which is a classy italian restaurant, we ordered the Bee Sting pizza which was only $20sgd for a full sized pizza, 10/10 highly recommend! Another dish was the truffle pasta ($24sgd) which was also super worth considering it is truffle😍 Malmo is a coastal city in the south of Sweden which is only a 30 minute train ride from Copenhagen! Hence, my friend and I decided to head over to Copenhagen for a picnic at Botanical Gardens which was so lovely, after that we decided to walk around and admire the colourful buildings copenhagen had to offer🥰

These were some of my main highlights during my trip to Sweden! Remember to save this post if you plan on heading to Sweden anytime soon! Let me know if y’all have any questions too☺️
