Did u know hermit crabs live to be 50 in the wild 😧

- I adopted hermit crabs because I wanted to give them a good life after I heard about how badly these amazing creatures are treated.

- hermit crabs are the 1 worst treated animals in the world. They are stolen from tropical environments by the thousands and crushed out of the shells which is wiping out the natural population and kills 1/3rd of them in the process. They then get forced into TOXIC painted shells and sold as temporary pets. They are advertised as throw away pets and easy pets.

Most hermit crabs only live days, weeks or months in captivity due to incorrect treatment. With proper treatment they can live decades!

They are NOT easy pets, they need their environment to match the tropical climate they were stolen from. (75-85 f temp and 75-85 humidity. ) anything else damages their gills

*IT IS NOT UR FAULT if you’ve had hermit crabs in the past and treated them bad because u didn’t know how to provide for them. It is ur job however as pet owners to change and give them the best life possible.
