Relationship green flags are definitely not spoken enough! But having green flags in your partner is literally a breath of fresh air because:

1️⃣ no anxiety

2️⃣ finally enjoying the relationship

3️⃣ growing together

4️⃣ genuinely enjoying each others company

5️⃣ truly feeling loved and cared for

So what’s the green flags that you should look for in a partner?

🌈 Effective communication

You can communicate but it could be a chicken talking to dog kinda situation where both of y’all don’t understand the points y’all are trying to make. Hence, effective communication is sooooo important because you’ll understand each other better in each others wants and needs, love languages, thought processes and so on. Honestly, the masks are off after the honeymoon phase is over mainly because now you’re more deep into the relationship & you’ll need to make bigger decisions especially if you’re in a stage of life where you’re looking for a forever partner.

Also rule of thumb, don’t beg for someone to communicate / love you better, ie beg for fast replies, calls everyday, if they want to they would.

🌺 Supportive

Having a supportive partner makes your life and relationship so much better and in par. When I was going through the stage of switching careers & thoughts of permanently shifting back to KL, altho my bf and I were just officially dating each other at the time, he showed up for me everyday no matter the distance. He stood by me through my tough times while reassuring me that everything was going to be okay, it actually allowed me to get my thoughts together. It allowed me to take up the courage to move forward with life knowing he’s there. So thank you to you my bf ❤️

⭐️ Involvement

Find someone who wants you to be part of everything in their life, be it small or big decisions, they come to you for support and your thoughts on a certain matter. My bf would always ask me out for family dinners, opinions on work and also before he purchases something (gotta weigh the wants and needs). But this just shows how much they care to constantly want to involve you in every part/aspect of their life.

Bruno Mars has literally listed some of the green flag standards in a relationship but I mean switch it in a positive way not the break up song. But honestly, a guy spending money on something that he knows will bring you happiness is literally my version of a green flag, my bf would always buy me flowers on every anniversary and birthday, told him Valentine’s Day is a scam so no to Vday. Holds your hand, if your love language is physical touch (like me), holding hands means sooooo much more than just holding hands it’s feeling connected and dance? Errrrr …. To each it’s own, I’m a poke the sky and wipe the windows kind of dancer so I guess if he finds it entertaining and dances along then why not?! HAHAHA

Understanding each other’s love languages is hella important, because we all depict love differently. My bf has the tendency to write handwritten letters for me for any special occasions or just sometimes randomly and I feel so so love with that alone. He managed to identify this! And of course, I managed to identify his but boiii 3 years in and I’m still struggling because I overthink about what to give him all the time. Hahaha. But wells, identifying love languages is a major green flag because well you finally learn how to love each other in the way they feel loved the most.
