Hat Yai (Commonly pronounced as Hap-Zhai) is a city that's not as popular as the familiar Bangkok and Phuket of Thailand, but I'll say it's a gem country to explore, with the streets less crowded and things over here seems to be more affordable then compared to BKK.

Of course, there's no big scale shopping like Platinum Mall or chatuchak over here, but generally, the shopping and food here is great too!

I'll touch on some sightseeing activities in Central Hatyai that I've been to here! As I'm traveling with the young and the old(from 5 months old to over 80 years old), total 10pax, I booked a mini van for our transportation mode for sightseeing. Booking of private van here is very affordable. We paid 2500baht for a full day service (SGD97+), which lasted almost 12 hours. While the driver I booked is polite and accommodating, I feel there should be better ones out there who might give more introduction about the places we went, so I won't be recommending the driver here.

Famous sightseeing places in Hatyai are mostly temples, but on the day I went (1st May), although it's PH but there's almost no crowds at these places of attractions.

The places shown in the photos are listed below, but as the driver did not introduce the places individually so it might not be in sequence. These temples are mostly on top of the hill, so you can have a good view on the whole Hatyai city and the clear blue sky! (ps. the sun was very hot thou!) The temples are pretty near to each other, about 5 to 10 mins drive away from each other so it's good to arrange them on the same day!

So, after bringing us to breakfast, we visited:

Phutthamongkol Maharaj Golden Budhha

Hatyai Municipal Park

Wat Hat Yai Nai

There's supposed to be one more temple for Four-faced Buddha, but as it's simply too hot and tiring after being exposed to the sun for a few hours, we decided to skip it. (Heard it's one of the must go thou!)

So instead, we went for lunch first and after that asked the driver to bring us to Big C and Makro Hypermarket, follow by central festival mall and sending the old folks back to hotel first before coming back to central festival mall to pick us back to hotel again~

That pretty much summarizes the 1 day activity we had in Hatyai. We reached the hotel around 8pm, and explore the hotel surrounding before ending our day with some foot and body massage (A MUST after the long day of walking!!)
