1 Peter Bible Study

Peter was an apostle of Jesus Christ, who writes a letter to all Christians who were suffering persecution at the hands of non believers. This letter provides encouragement for Christians experiencing persecution for their beliefs, as he encourages them to continue living a life of sanctity and purity despite the troubles they were going through. We have to remind ourselves that this world is not our permanent home, heaven is (Hebrews 13:24) The world and everything in it is temporary, but we are born again through Jesus and will have eternal life in heaven. The Bible says that we will be persecuted for being true believers of Jesus Christ; God says that things such as being hurt, being persecuted and being cast out will happen. Even though God says these things will happen, we must not conform to the things of this world. We must continue to be holy because he is holy. God says that we will be rewarded for being wrongly punished for being a true believer in Christ, so there is hope for those who suffer and do good. We should feel secured and protected by the lord because he is our defender. We shouldn’t be ashamed, but instead feel glorified. The lord is here to restore us and strengthen us and place us within a firm foundation despite any judgement or persecution from others.
