Valentines Day ❤️‍🩹Let’s Talk About it..

It’s finally that time of year again where we celebrate our loving friends and companionships. While it is a beautiful concept to celebrate the love in our life, Valentines Day can feel like an extra reminder of areas in life we’ve lost love.

I know for me, I think about my Grandmother & my Mom, two special women throughout my girlhood that would spoil me with handwritten letters, chocolate covered strawberries, assorted chocolate ♥️ boxes, and my favorite dish, Chicken fettuccine Alfredo💞. However, it’s been 2 years since my mother passed (3/yrs for my grandmother) and I can’t help but to spend the holiday cherishing past memories of the ladies who helped me become the person I am today.

Since my grandma passed 3 years ago, Valentines Day has felt less like a day of love, and more of a reminder of the love I have lost.

If you are missing love this Valentines Day, whether it be a breakup, or someone close to you who you’ve lost, ect. 💔just know that you are not alone. Remember that the lack of them being in your life does not take away from the love you still recieve.

Love comes in all forms. We see it in nature, the bees giving to the flowers, which makes fruit we eat, we drink water from springs, seeing couples and families out in public showing affection for eachother, butterflies dancing in the sun, everyone screaming a song at concerts- love is all around us. It is in every part of our minds. You don’t have to look too hard to see love all around you.

This Valentines Day, instead of feeling anxious about the holiday and longing for a relationship or paying attention to absence of love, I will pay extra attention to the enormous amounts of love I already have🤍
