My bf and I shaved our heads!!!

Funny enough a few month before we started dating (didn’t know each other at the time) we each shaved our head due to our own personal reason and have been growing our hair since. Our recent chop we had a letting go ceremony/ritual. During the 2 years we’ve been together we’ve gone through a lot within both of our friend groups and with each other just due to what others have shoved in our faces about how we should “control” or do things in our relationship. We decided to vow to each other to start fresh and let go of things and people who no longer served us and to continue to love and l grow as one.

For us hair holds memories, the good and the bad. The ritual itself is a reminder that letting go is okay! That doesn’t mean that you have to forget what happened, you have to grow from it! My granny always say it takes time for us to become butterflies. She says that because we have to allow ourselves to heal and transform in order to become someone beautiful. This is my first post here but I thought it would be an inspiration for other couples who have battled through others telling you that you’re bf/gf isn’t good enough for you or judging your relationship due to them projecting.
