5 Days Travel Itinerary For Egypt

•Landing at Cairo International Airport (Slide 2)

You’ll need to obtain your visa to be accepted into their country. You can either buy the visa online or in person. The visa’s are $25. Please be cautious when getting a car service. There is no such thing as Uber/Lyft. You’ll need to find a driver who’s car has A/C. Most of the cars in Cairo don’t have A/C. Don’t worry, the rides are very cost friendly.

•Hotel (Slide 3)

I stayed in New Cairo at The St. Regis which is about 45 mins out from the city center. The hotel was by far the best hotel I’ve stayed at ever. The room was $150/night. I chose this hotel because just look at the view. Had 3 pools with 1 being a man made wave pool, tennis courts, a large spa and the list goes on. The food was absolutely magnificent. Chefs kiss!

•Getting around Egypt

•The driver I hired from the airport was my driver the entire trip. He was respectable, knowledgeable, not over priced, car had A/C.

•Day 1: Giza Pyramids & Sphinx (Slide 4 & 5)

The walk to the top where the pyramids are was very far. I rode a camel but I’m not sure how much I paid (it wasn’t very much). You can walk for free or have a horse carriage take you as well (again not very much). The pyramids can be seen from miles away but seeing them close up and personal should be on your list if you’re traveling that far. The Sphinx is half human and half lion.

•Day 2: The Hanging Church (Not pictured)

Saint Virgin Mary's Coptic Orthodox Church. They call it the hanging church because the church is hanging not sure how but it’s hanging. (Free)

•Day 3: The Valley Of The Kings (Slide 6)

This is where you see the royal tombs of the kings and queens. Be aware it’s extremely hot because the tombs have no windows or A/C. For $10/person you can see 3 tombs. If you’re wanting to see more it’s extra. The art work dates back to B/C.

•Day 4: Luxor (Slide 7 & 8)

Took a flight from Cairo to Luxor. The cost was around $200. I rode Egypt Air first class and trust me…you’ll want first class compared to economy. The flight was only 1 hour long to get there. I found another driver who took me to The Nile River where I caught a boat rode to enjoy my hot air balloon ride. In Luxor, I visited the popular Karnak Temple and bought some souvenirs.

•Day 5: Downtown Cairo (Slide 9)

Last day in Cairo I stayed at The Four Seasons hotel on The Nile River. Hotel was about $350/night. The bar was wonderful, staff was extremely friendly and personable. I continued services with my original driver from the airport because he was trust worthy and kind to us. I toured the National Museum of Egyptian Civilization which cost maybe $15. This is where you’ll see the Royal Mummies. These are in fact the REAL MUMMIES no pictures can be taken at all.

Food: Local restaurants all over and hotel food.
