COME TO CHICAGO WITH ME + TRAVEL TIPS ✈️

Hey, there! Summer is the perfect time to travel and visit places you have always wanted to. In 2019, I was like “Hey! I want to go to Chicago.” So, I grabbed my closest friends and planned a trip. It was a blast!

What We Did? –

We spent about 4 days in Chicago! One of the days we went on a hop-on + hop-off bus tour. So, we would grab breakfast, get on the bus, drive around for a bit, then hop off where we wanted to. We got to see the Bean, waterfront, Navy Pier, and so much more! We took a boat ride around the Chicago area to get an amazing look at the skyline.

Then, we hopped on an Amtrak train to New Buffalo, Michigan! New Buffalo is a cute little town in Michigan right on the water with tourist-y shops and unique restaurants. It was a short ride, so we rested then geared up to spend a day in the cute town of New Buffalo. We ate at The Stray Dog in town, visited tourist-y shops, and took a stroll along the beach before catching the train back to Chicago.

My recommendations:

🏙Always take a tour/transportation on the first day of your trip if you are staying in the same place for more than one day. This way you can get a layout of the city and see what you want to do. If you do a historical tour, they may tell you more about what you want to do.

🏙Stay at a hotel near walkable places. This may sound obvious, but we have saved so much money not having to rent cars or catch rides from apps.

🏙Leave the last day of your trip open. I do this every trip I take since I know I will not know everything going on at the spot I am traveling to. While I am in the city, I will probably find something else I want to check out while I am there! So, I save it for the last day. This also helps if some activities you planned get canceled due to rain.
