I found the best pants for tall girls

As a tall girl, I often find it hard to buy pants from the local blog shops that are so popular here! Most times, pants are too short and end above the ankles, or too tight at the calves and hike up when I walk (for tapered pants) because they were made for someone shorter.

When I found this pair of pants, I was sold and wanted to buy it in all colours. I also realized one of my fellow tall friends has the same pair in THREE colours! This is Fashmob’s Layla Slit Pants in Caramel. They come in a variety of colours and they make your legs go on forever.

What I look for in pants:

✔️ Fits at the waist with slight allowance for the food baby

✔️ Straight legged/slightly flared to streamline my legs and hide my pear shaped hips (too much flare will make the lower half of my body look too bulky)

✔️ End past my ankles (pants that end above my ankles end up “cutting” off my legs and making them look shorter)

How I like to style my pants:

1️⃣ Balance Proportions

For wide-legged pants, if there’s too much fabric on the top half, it can look overall bulky and cluttered. I like to choose a tighter top or one that’s slightly cropped to emphasize my waist.

2️⃣ Different Shoes = Different Vibes

One of my favourite ways to pair long pants is with chunky sneakers because it gives a very casual, street style vibe. I paired these pants with heeled sandals in this photo for a more dressed-up girl’s night out look! I’d also style them with my a pair of neutral chunky sneakers and a cropped tee. For a casual weekend look I also wore them with Birks/sliders and a slouchy tucked in tee.

3️⃣ Outerwear

As the pants are long and wide-legged, I prefer either structured outerwear that’s cropped (to balance proportions as in point 1) or a flowy outerwear like a loose shirt/kimono that doesn’t make me look too bulky/clunky as it flows with my body.

Overall, these pants are super versatile - I can do a dressy outfit, a work outfit and a casual weekend look. I need them in more colours now. 😛
