Wedding Woes: No friends to be my bridesmaid?

We are planning to have our wedding in 2025. But here comes one of the biggest issue: I HAVE NEVER FELT ANY LONELIER IN MY LIFE.

Weddings are supposed to be a joyous occasion but the very thought of it reminds me of how lonely I actually am…..

For context, I’m a single child from a single parent family. I have no cousins as well so naturally I have no one to talk to at home. I didn’t grow up in the most fortunate nor blessed environment so naturally, I’m not exposed to many things. Don’t get me wrong, I’m still thankful for my life and I’m thankful for my mom who works hard to keep me alive.

What I’m trying to say is, I have no idea what it takes to be a girl. I tried my first make up product in uni. I’ve always been a tomboy. Which is why, I had no say in my engagement ring. My fiancé knows that I’m a really simple person who has no clue about what she wants. To be frank, I have no idea that there are so many different types of diamonds and cuts until after I got proposed to..

Now, here come the issue. I have ZERO clue about wedding dresses and even make up (trust me, I go out without make up every single day). As I try to look for answers and plan to visit different wedding dress boutique to try out dresses, I suddenly came to a realisation….

WHO AM I GOING TO CALL TO ACCOMPANY ME FOR MY WEDDING DRESS SHOPPING???

Wow…. I am THAT lonely. I am SO LONELY that my bridesmaid will be boys.. well, majority of them will be boys…….

I’ve cried over it countless times because I’ve been so envious of the girlfriends narrative. So many brides with their girlfriends of 10 years, hanging out.. while I, on the other hand, have no one like this….

Is this normal? To not have enough girlfriends? Is it normal? To have boys as your close friends?

well, I don’t see any wrong in that but I just can’t help but feel sad…. I long for a few girlfriends in my life. I long to be able to go out on purely girls dates. I long to have girls to do girlie things and to talk about girl problems…
