i genuinely think weak knees runs in my family & my friends always joke that i'll be the first one to end up in a wheelchair 👩🦽🪵 (i did end up in a wheelchair but for a separate reason😄)
BACKGROUND: 💃🏻🏊♀️🤾🏻♀️
i did chinese dance & swimming in pri sch, explored other dance genres in sec sch (mainly hiphop & contemporary dance which involves quite alot of floor work.. and eventually started playing handball in poly which ALSO involve lots of running and jumping 🏃🏻♀️😭
i only took the pain seriously and forced myself to go for physio after joining handball because i was so invested in that sport LOL & i wanted to know what was the exact problem because my knee pain would affect me so much. HENCE, i decided to go for a checkup. the doctor immediately noticed abnormal swelling on both my knees... and started to examine them by extending my knees & applying pressure on my patella (he wobbled my knee caps😆)
after the physical examination, i went for the MRI & received my diagnosis 😞. he then gave me 2 options which was physiotherapy or surgery but i was too scared to go under the knife 🤡
looking back, going for physio has made me more aware of the way i bend, squat and jump😳 im definitely more careful & STILL learning how to take care of my knees with proper cool down and icing sessions 🧊
side note: im not a knee expert or wtv, i just know from what my physiotherapist has told me & ofc bestie google to understand whats goin on 🙇♀️🤓 so feel free to correct or give advice on how to relieve my knee pain :)
