MOST CREATIVE BIRTHDAY GIFT EVER?! 🧐🤭

I recently celebrated my boyfriend's 23rd birthday, and finding the perfect gift was quite a challenge. 🎁 I wanted something unique that would keep him guessing.

After browsing on XHS, I stumbled upon the idea of a custom blind box! 🎨🎲 It seemed like a creative twist on the blind box trend, so I decided to give it a shot. Here's a concise summary of the process and my experience:

Finding the Right Seller:

It took some time to find a seller for custom blind boxes, but I eventually settled for one with decent reviews.

Price 💰:

NGL, it's a bit on the pricey side.

The pricing varies depending on different factors such as 6/9 boxes option, if you require design, slight edits etc. I chose the 6-box option and it cost aout $50 SGD. 💀

The cost includes design (simple characters), printing, 6 small character cards, and 1 box case.

Communication 📞:

After purchasing on Taobao, the seller invited me to a group with their designers and logistics team. We discussed the design, and I specified a cute and simple style. It took a bit of back-and-forth, but we eventually settled on a design after many drafts. Just wanted to look cute on the front of the boxes which i spent $50 on!! 😭

Shipping 🚚:

Taobao sellers often don't ship directly to Singapore, so I used a third-party shipping provider. However, wont recommend here because they missed an item in my first shipment and made me pay for it again. ❌

Receiving the Item 📦:

When the blind boxes arrived, I noticed that the box case was stained, and it didn't close properly. I had to use tape to keep it shut. I didn't bother asking further because 1. my Chinese isn't fluent, 2. I didn't expect much in terms of a refund or replacement.

Additional Info: What Did I Put in the Boxes:

In each box, I included the small card with info or clues about the present, which I covered with scratchable tape.

This added an element of surprise when my boyfriend scratched the cards, revealing hints about the gift.
