YSL Kate Belt Bag Review

I recently bought a new designer piece to use as my everyday bag, so I wanted to review it for you guys! The bag is the YSL Kate Belt Bag in calfskin leather. This specific size is 7.1 x 4.7 x 1.8 inches.

This bag is no longer available on the Saint Laurent website, but a similar Kate Belt Bag (in grain de poudre-embossed leather) is. I bought mine off Poshmark for $750 before tax, while the style still available on Saint Laurent is listed at $1150.

The reason for this purchase was that I sold my previous everyday handbag and needed a new one. I found my old bag, the Jacquemus Le Bambino Long, was an awkward shape and I also wanted a designer of higher tier for my everyday bag. When I stumbled on this bag, I realized that it was perfect!

The first feature that I love about the YSL Kate Belt Bag is the style of the strap. Whenever I found myself carrying around my Lululemon belt bag, I would always wear it over the shoulder—which gave me the idea to use this bag the same way! The bag is adorable as a shoulder bag, and can also be worn as a belt bag around your chest or around your waist. Something amazing about the strap is that it can actually be removed, leaving you with a super cute clutch for more formal occasions! I love the versatility of this bag.

In the inside of the bag there are a few card slots and a zipper pouch. The card slots come in handy when you need to fit a few extra things in your bag and don’t have room for your small wallet/cardholder. The pouch is also nice to separate things such as cash from the rest of your belongings.

There is also plenty enough room for my essentials. I was able to fit my cardholder, digital camera, two lip products, and some cash in the bag comfortably.

In my opinion, this is the perfect bag if you are looking for something that can transition from day to night, and also work as an everyday bag!
