signs to leave a relationship

in doing my own reflection after leaving a toxic and abusive relationship, i’ve realized there were many moments i should have left the relationship that led it to get to where it was when i finally did leave.

1. when they don’t like for you to confide in anyone but them. this is a way controlling people gain control. by them not allowing you to go to friends when something is wrong is forcing you to distance yourself from those you love

2. when they make you feel less than. it can start as something simple like “your not my usual type” and can quickly turn to “you’re lucky to have me” or “you’re useless” someone who loves you shouldn’t try to put you down and when they do that’s your sign to go.

3. when your constantly trying to prove yourself. when someone is constantly forcing you to prove to them you deserve to be treated right or that you deserve their love, that means they don’t deserve you. when someone loves you there is no checklist or tasks you just complete to earn that love it should come natural so when you are going out of your way to prove your worth that’s not someone worth being with.
