If you recently purchased or are planning to purchase the Sony ZV e10 or any camera and are new to photography and filming 📷 this is for you.

Exposure 📸 is very important to learn in order to get the best quality photos and videos

- [ ] There are five major elements in running your camera📷

FRAME RATE | ISO | APERTURE | SHUTTER SPEED | WHITE BALANCE…these combined will get you to the right exposure

- [ ] You should shoot in manual mode instead of auto so that you can control and tell your camera what to expose for

- [ ] Frame rate: refers to how many frames are in one second of your video

- [ ] e.g. if you shoot something at 60fps then inside one second of footage there will be 60frames taken to equal one second

- [ ] You will need to shoot in certain frame rates according to what the scenario is

- [ ] Current cinematic look shoot in 24fps

- [ ] Slow motion shoot at 60 or 120 fps

- [ ] Allows more information in clip when you slow them down

- [ ] More smooth motion

- [ ] Settings to get the correct exposure ISO:Aperture:Shutter speed

- [ ] ISO “Fake Light”

- [ ] Digital way to make image light or darker

- [ ] Similar to the exposure control on cell phone that makes image brighter or darker

- [ ] Measured on a scale from around 100 all the way up to 16000 or more

- [ ] The higher the number the brighter but also the more noise or grain you will introduce into the image

- [ ] Try to keep iso under 1000 to control grain out of image

- [ ] Shutter Speed (how long the image is exposed into the world)

- [ ] Shutter opens and allows sensor within the camera to see an image

- [ ] Sensor within the camera is what sees the image/world

- [ ] Shutter opens to see the image closes it captures it

- [ ] Depending on how fast/slow shutter functions will effect the light of the picture

- [ ] The quicker it opens/closes the less exposure to light the sensor gets so the image will be darker

- [ ] If slow shutter speed it allows more light into the camera

- [ ] Change shutter speed effects motion blur

- [ ] Fast shutter speed with moving object then the motion blur less and looks more jittery

- [ ] Slow shutter speed moving object will get more motion blur

- [ ] Shutter speed is double your frame rate e.g. 24=48 closest 50. 60=120

- [ ] Shutter speed usually measures in increments of to

- [ ] Iso: changes exposure but adds noise/grain target below 1000

- [ ] Shutter speed changes exposure also effects motion blur

- [ ] Aperture:also effects depth of field and exposure

- [ ] Aperture: eyeball referred to as f stop

- [ ] How much lens opens to allow more light in

- [ ] Effects depth of field

- [ ] More open the lens/aperture more light allowed in

- [ ] Gives you that background blur

- [ ] So an aperture of 1.6 vs 16 will give you more of a shallow depth of field at 16

- [ ] If you want to focus on a group of people then you may want to raise the aperture

- [ ] F22 down to 1.4

- [ ] More money for lenses with lower aperture

- [ ] Low the aperture the more depth of field

- [ ] White balance: tells camera what is pure white

- [ ] Even with correct exposure

- [ ] Tells camera what is pure white

- [ ] If off white will look orange or blue

- [ ] Which will make all other colors appear off

- [ ] You can use auto to have the camera do the work but may be inconsistent

- [ ] If you know the Kelvin of light your working with you can set that ???

- [ ] If set properly you won’t have to worry about the whites fluctuates

- [ ] Purchase lightdow to do a custom white balance its easy to set
