controversial ways i (might) raise my baby

1. they will be raised as the gender assigned at birth, but i will love and support my child if they feel like another gender, i'll make sure they know to put a lot of thought in it, and ill support whatever they decide after they think about it.

2. they will be dressed either gender neutral or the gender they were assigned

3. i will be a gentle parent, not the kind that allows them to do whatever they want, but the kind that will never ever hit them or yell at them for small mistakes, and talk about why they shouldn't behave badly, they will still get punishments if they misbehave too much, but unless they do anything reallly bad, the punishments will stay light

4. i want them to be able to talk to me about anything, even if it's something they may get into trouble for.

5. at a certain age, if they start smoking/vaping/drinking, i'd rather them keep it all at home instead of sneaking behind my back and possibly getting into dangerous situations. i will try to tell them not to, but if they still do, i don't want them going out and getting themselves into trouble

6. when they eventually get a significant other, as long as they are at the right age, i want them to talk to me so i can make sure they are being safe, and their partner is being respectful and kind towards them. i will allow their partner to come stay nights as much as they want, as long as they are respectful and safe.

7. i will make sure they know the importance of consent from a very young age, i will allow them to accept or deny and hugs/kisses from family or anything along those lines and if i ever find out they disrespected anyone else's consent, they will be punished depending on how bad it was

8. if they want a pet, and i can afford getting it for them, i will make sure they know the responsibility it takes and i will tell them to do research and put together some form of slideshow or something like that telling me exactly how they're going to take care of their pet.

9. i will not be strict with school as long as they are passing their classes, and if they're not passing, i will do everything i can to help them pass

10. while they are young, they can have sleepovers as long as ive met their friends parents, and when they get into high school i dont need to meet their parents but i would like to if they stay for any extended period of time

11. i will try to make sure they eat healthy, but i will still let them eat junk foods every once in a while

12. if they don't like the food they are given, i won't force them to eat it, ill ask them what they want, and if we have it and it won't take too long to make for them, they can eat that instead

13. i will not raise an ipad kid, they will get a phone somewhere between the age of 10-12, they might get an ipad before then but it will have screen time and when screen time for that day is over, i will hold onto it until the next day

14. i will not go through their phone unless there are serious safety concerns about the way they use the internet, like talking to adults as kids/teenagers

there's honestly probably more but this is all i can think about for now. i truly cannot wait to meet my baby and i want to give them the best life i can.
