Teaching Baby Sign Language

Baby sign language gives your baby the opportunity to communicate before they can form words. With my first baby I started baby sign language with him around 6 months old and by 8 months old he was doing at least 8 different signs!

These 6 signs will be incredibly useful in communicating with your baby.

Milk - Opening & closing hand like milking a cow

Eat/Food - Bring hand to mouth with a closed hand and tap

More - Same shape of hand as Eat, but you tap both hands together

All Done - Hands up and do a sweeping motion from front to back of hands

Please - Rub your hand in a circular motion on your chest

Thank You - Bring hand to your mouth and then pull it down

My son also knew bird, dog, sleepy, and car!
