Do you have a barnacle baby?

My first baby was totally a barnacle baby! If you’ve never heard of this term, it’s a baby that is always attached to you and doesn’t like to be put down to play or to sleep!

This are just some of the things I did to help me deal with having a barnacle baby. I loved it and I love my baby but it definitely can get hard, especially if you’re doing it all!

My first tip is to get a comfortable baby carrier and wear them a ton! That way you still have your hands to get things done. I would use this to cook dinner, clean, go on walks, get him to nap, and even just if he was fussy!

My next tip is to co bathe with your baby! This is a great way to bond with your baby regardless, but is it also helpful if your baby cries in the bath!

My last tip is to contact nap with your baby! This takes the frustration out of trying to lay them down for their naps. If your baby wants you to hold them while they sleep, just do it if you can! It doesn’t create any bad habits. My baby is now 3.5 and naps independently!
