WHY WE DON’T DO SANTA WITH OUR KIDS!

When I was a kid my family did Santa Claus! My parents told me he was real and we did stockings and also got one big gift that came from Santa.

I remember when I found out that Santa wasn’t real! I was so confused and upset and from then one I actually didn’t like Christmas as much! I’d say stuff like “it doesn’t even matter! Santa’s not real!” And my older sister would say, “he might be, just pretend he is just in case!”

When I became a parent I just didn’t feel right doing it with my kid! It felt like I would be lying to him. His first Christmas he was only 6 months old so it didn’t matter much yet. The following one he understood a lot more and we decided to not do Santa with him.

We would read books with Santa in them and he knew of him but we told him from the start that Santa isn’t real. He knows that he is a fictional character like Spider Man!
