melbourne cafes!! 🤤🥞🥑

travelled to melbourne for a short vacation during my mid-semester break & here are some cafes i visited! i selected the cafes based on my friends’ recommendations & google reviews!!✨

1. tori’s

tori’s is known for their matcha lattes! this place was HIGHLY recommended to me by my friend who stays there & its her fav matcha latte!! & i had to take the pic down the alley because i kept seeing that on my insta hehe. the location is really small & i went on good friday so it was really crowded & there was no space to sit + the queue was insanely long! the matcha latte wasnt cheap + there was additional surcharge bc of PH 😭😭 BUT it was SO rich!!!!!! i got the popular iced matcha latte while my sister & her bf got the hot matcha latte. the hot matcha latte was much richer & i definitely recc this!! 🫶 i didnt try the strawberry matcha latte as my friend told me the strawberry overpowers the matcha but it seemed to be a popular choice among customers

2. ten square

we ordered the chilli crab scrambled eggs as it seems to have really good reviews on google. we also ordered the sauteed mushrooms 🍄(they used to have braised mushrooms but i think they changed the menu) the chilli scrambled eggs were actually a little spicy!! which was unexpected given that this is australia. the sauteed mushrooms were also not bad as the pumpkin sauce gave the dish some sweetness. all in all, the food was not bad. something odd though, is that in the 1 hr (or less) that we spent there, they tried to clear our plates 3 times even though the place wasnt even fully occupied. we gave in on the 3rd time they asked & told them to clear it even though we had small portions left on the plate. they were efficient but it made us feel a lil unwelcomed & it was as if they were chasing us out. 🙁

3. blonde food & drink

i- love this place so much 🥹 my friend and i came here after exploring rose street market & fitzroy market. this place was recommended by her! we shared 1 portion of shakshouka as we were going to south melb market ltr on to eat more. the shakshouka was SOOO GOOD!!! best one ive had (❗️disclaimer: ive had it only twice HHAHA) but it was so flavourful & filling! for only $20 = $10 each. the feta cheese & kale chips added really gave it so much flavour. 😍 they also provided free coffee (black coffee but the less atas kind) but i didnt try it. anyways, this shakshouka is worth a visit! 🤩

4. little rogue

when i received reccs for melb matcha, everyone said to try tori’s & little rogue! little rogue was located in another alley & the interior was cute! when i went, there were seats available but i didnt stay as i wanted to explore the city. the matcha was GOOD & i bought the small one so it only cost $4.50!!! i was also told to try the coffee in little rogue & saw good reviews online too! sadly, i didnt have the capacity & $ to try so many items 🥲 little rogue is also conveniently located next to bakemonos which serves amazing pastries!! (will talk more about bakes in another post)
