How to propagate Fiddle Leaf Fig Tree

Though a fiddle leaf fig leaf can root and stay alive for months they do not carry the building blocks of life necessary to build a whole plant.

The easiest way to propagate a fiddle leaf fig is to chop off the top 3 nodes in one large cutting. nodes are where the leaf meets the main stem.

This will cause the ficus to branch out and grow 2 or more branches at the top as well as activate lower growth points for a thicker and more full tree.

After taking your cutting you can root it in a glass of water in bright light and within a few weeks you will have fully formed roots and a whole other plant as well as a healthier and more bushy mother plant.
