Moms of Boys.. let’s chat.

One of the hardest things, for me, about having boys is submitting to the need for adventure. I prefer peace.

Little boys love to create missions in which they become the hero or the rescuer. My oldest loves to create a problem to solve by burying one of his toys under a pile of pillows. He would then ask us where his toys went and start to create a panic; how was he going to get his toys back?

Would he be able to save his trucks or his “magna-ty-tulls” (magnet tiles)?  He would then go ravaging through the pillows in search of his toys to rescue them, so proud of himself when he emerged triumphant, tiles or truck in hand.

They take everything I have out of me. I fall into bed at the end of every day exhausted. I often have to grapple with the fact that I am not enough for them and they desperately need God to work through me so that I can love them well.

I am here to help teach them how to become comfortable with peace.

I am also here to teach them that they are free to explore, create and be men that step up to rescue and embrace their God-given instincts and gifts.

I am exactly who God created to birth, mother and love them.

I also fail every single day.

When I humbly submit to that fact, I can rest easier knowing that even though I will mess up, it is never beyond redemption.
