chicco pasta bar | worth a go?

For Valentine's day, my partner brought me to Chicco Pasta Bar I was super excited because I read so many posts on #Lemon8SG raving about how good the food was. As a pasta lover and self proclaimed pasta connoisseur, I just had to try it for myself 😋 We made reservations beforehand so we didn't have to wait at all :)

Rigatoni Carbonara | $18

~ Guanciale, Egg & Pepper

My partner LOVED this. I tried a few bites and I see the reason why!! It's light and creamy & doesn't make you jelat (unlike other carbonara dishes) The bacon was super flavourful & it was just a dish that can't go wrong. Nothing to pick about, order this if you're a carbonara lover :)

~ Spanner Crab & Bisque

So many people recommended this dish. I am a huge seafood lover & was excited to finally try this. The crab used is the real type and the flavour was EXTREMELY strong. Some might even find it abit too strong if you aren't a crab lover. You know the thin line between the frozen crab taste & fresh crab taste? I feel that this dish is on that line. I can't seem to decide if the strong crab flavour is a plus or not. I also found this dish to be a little too salty. The Malfadine pasta was cooked very well, and I was impressed. I also found some crab shells while chewing.....but with everything considered, I did enjoy this dish alot and would order it again, but it's not a perfect dish.

Pistachio Tiramisu | $12

We both enjoyed this dessert and devoured it in literal seconds. They are very generous with the cream, and it's light but not overly sweet. The coffee taste was super yummy, but it's a shame that you can't really taste the pistachio in it. Its not really pistachio flavoured Tiramisu. I think the pistachio was just used as a topping which was a bummer.

Overall, we both enjoyed this experience & agree that we'll be back! We do think that the price is a little high (there's similar pastas sold at a cheaper price range) but at least you get a satisfying meal. I don't think that it's overhyped...i've been to worse places that were hyped on Tiktok/Lemon8...the food is actually yummy here.
