🔥Let me share a story about how my client's lashes were over-processed by another lash studio 😭. Client A booked a lash lift appointment with a well-known reputable store, charging $8X for what she expected to be a high-quality treatment with premium products and good technique. However, Client A had visited them for a lash lift appointment twice before!
The first appointment went great, but the second one was a disaster 🙀. Despite everything seeming fine at the end of the appointment, a few days later, Client A noticed her lashes were "zig-zag" and "over-curled." Attempts to fix it with mascara only made it worse. Client A found it weird since her first lash lift with them was okay.
In desperation, she booked an appointment with me. Upon inspection, I could see most of her lashes were over-processed and frizzy ☹️☹️. The only solution was to restore her lashes by straightening the frizzy ones, relifting her lashes, and adding a ton of lash treatment. I managed to revive 95% of her lashes, but some strands were badly damaged and beyond my control 😭.
So, folks, please do your research before booking a lash lift appointment! Here's a guide to check if a studio offers a good lash lift and reasons why your lashes may get over-processed:
⚫️ Check if their products contain harmful chemicals or ingredients like ammonia, Thioglycolic acid, and sodium bromate.
⚫️ Opt for a lash lift product running on Cysteamine, a better option known for being organic and plant-based.
⚠️ Remember, a good product doesn't necessarily mean good lash lift technique. Find a certified lash tech with experience and read reviews.
🤧 If your lash lift stings badly, smells unbearable, or the solution goes into your eyes, it's a red flag!
✅ you should only feel a slight discomfort when lashes are being wrapped & a slight tingling when your lashes are getting soften> as you’re still putting a foreign object to your lash but you should not feel a burning sensation inside your eyes! ❌🔥
⚫️ Super sensitive skin? You may expect a slight tingle.
Reasons why your lash might get over processed
❌ If your lash tech leaves the solution too long due to different hair structure, it can cause over-processing.
⚠️ Thin or weak lash structure , lash technician shouldn’t leave the product too long
⚠️ incorrect sizing of lash lift rod/curl > too small
⚠️ poor lash lift technique
⚠️ lash tech did not comb & wrap lash properly
⚠️ harsh products
✅Your lash tech should conduct a 1-1 lash consultation, considering your eye shape and recommending a suitable curl or sizing before starting.
👍 a good lash tech will conduct a proper lash consultation with an analysis of lash/eye shape before starting.
