STRAITS TIMES interviewed me?!? 😽🤞🏼

⭐️ #summerdiary I’m really grateful to be one of the 3 girls selected (out of 200+) to be interviewed by The Straits Times at a competition held by J.P. Morgan! The event was called GenerationTech and it’s purpose was to encourage STEM amongst teenage girls! There were girls from both secondary schools and JC.

💻 Firstly, we were taught how to use a web development platform by the high-level employees of JP Morgan themselves.

After which, different teams were assigned a UN SDG goal - my team’s was Goal 10: Reducing Inequalities. We had to create a solution using technology and present it to the panel of judges.

🏆 There were 2 rounds of judging and it was a tough competition between 20+ teams. For the winning team EACH person got an iPad, which is SO COOL 😭😭😭

✍️ When I was doing my registration in the morning, one of the staff at JP Morgan asked me whether I would like to be interviewed by The Straits Times and I said yes!

👔 After the competition, I was interviewed by the journalist from ST and he asked me about my experience at this event, as well as my interests and background regarding STEM. He was really friendly so it wasn’t too formal, so it was pretty chill 🤞🏼

📸 Afterwards, the other 2 girls and I also had to take a picture with the guest of honor - Ms Sun Xueling (from the government).

🎥 We also had to share about our experience in the form of a video, to be used by JP Morgan for advertising GenerationTech! 😽

💗 The article came out about a week later, and i still couldn’t believe that I was in the news! It’s SUCH a surreal feeling and im immensely grateful for the opportunity given to me!
