Have plans to go to Kota Kinabalu but don’t know where to go? Let me share with you my wonderful experience in KK and the places that you MUST visit when you are there.

#1 Desa Dairy Farm, Kundasang

The view here is magical! It’s like you are not in Malaysia 🤩 People always come here for the cold, windy weather and of course to see the ‘New Zealand’ cows. You can even feed them at certain time. While you’re there, don’t miss the chance to try the ice cream/froyo because they are so super delicious. Every corner of this farm is picture worthy; this is the chance for you to be in Malaysia that does not look like Malaysia 😆

Pro tip 1: Make sure you go early in the morning so that you can feed the cows on time! You can also plan a day trip just to explore the beauty of Kundasang.

#2 BW Bus Restaurant, Kundasang

From the farm, you can stop by this restaurant for lunch before coming down. This place is like a hidden gem that not many people know of. You get to experience eating in an aesthetic bus with breathtaking view of Mt Kinabalu’s peak. If you’re lucky, you’ll get the whole bus to yourself and have a romantic moment with your partner or a quiet private lunch with your family. The food was pretty nice too — they have selections of western food and decent coffee.

Pro tip 2: Wear comfortable clothes because you will be sitting in the car for more than two hours to reach the top of Kundasang.

#3 Tanjung Aru Beach

The HOT place for sunset appreciators. Just look at the view 😍 There are also variety of food selection (food trucks and stalls) and fun activities to do along the beach. The only bad side of this place is that the beach is pretty much polluted with food packages that people left behind.

Pro tip 3: Reach the beach before 5pm because the traffic is reaaally heavy after that.
