things no one said about SSDC

context; i enrolled into SSDC (school) class 3A; back in dec’22 & i’m currently waiting for my FTT date to book my TP Test slot 😭

sooooo here are some things i wished i knew about SSDC:

1. having to chiong for prac slots as if im booking concert tix 😭 (ref slide 2)

SSDC slot release are every wednesdays at 2PM & everytime i try to book, i will NEVER get any slots. one day i asked a friend to help me camp at the website (cause i was #desprate), and he sent me (pic from slide 2) at 4PM, waiting time says 55 minutes but he had been logged in since 1.50PM! so so crazy, he ended not getting ANY slots. 🤡

i personally always have booked trysell slots, most of the times i got the slots when logging in at around 2PM, or early in the morning around 6AM.

tip: check every morning / before going to bed, check during lunch hours (my mentality behind it: people go lunch = lazy go prac = trysell their slot = i get slot 🥳) may or may not work tho HAHA

2. faster faster finish up your BTT and FTT !!!!!!

when i first enrolled i thought “okay i have a year to complete everything its gonna be okay” (spoiler alert: NOPE) so didnt book my BTT until end of jan’23 …… also back then i couldn’t book a prac slot until i cleared my BTT, im not sure about now though.

buttt pls don’t b like me, jst go and book your BTT, so you can faster faster go for practicals! i highly suggest you to also go for your FTT in between pracs because if not you’ll be like me; waiting for FTT to book TP test. so much time is being wasted just cause i was lazy to do the TTT 😭 heads up: the BTT, FTT, TP tests dates can be MONTHS away (especially BTT) so ….. yes

also don’t be paiseh to take back to back TTT slots…. the staffs are used to it they won’t even remember you half the time. desperate time calls for desperate measures so 🤷🏽‍♀️

3. the amount of money i was gonna spend

okay i knew it was expensive, but i didn’t know it was THIS expensive. each prac was around $70-80 depending on which time slot you pick, for a 90mins session. i’m quite a slow learner and i went through 25 lessons, lots of TTT, and now i’ve spent more that $2k ……. 😵 i have friends who are in other schools & apparently their pracs are cheaper??

theory test tip: spam the free tests available online, and just opt for test mode during your TTT! from what i know if you just started, you’ll have to go through 3 TTTs (and pass their test mode) before you’re able to book for BTT 🫨 but idk how it works honestly so lmk if you know!

4. it does not matter what school you enroll into…..

some people say certain school have a higher passing rate but i really think it all comes down to you :0 (although i actually have a lot to complain about SSDC but that’s another story for another day 🫥)

if you have the drive (get it? 👽) & motivation to get your license, then it’ll be a breeze 🍃
