๐๐ฆ Matcha Ice Cream, 300yen ($3 SGD): 8/10
Honestly, I was quite shocked after I took my first bite! Thatโs because we bought this from the same store as the Whale Skewer (Part 1), and it was a pretty secluded store with no crowd!
The matcha scent was so smooth and deep with the creaminess of it made it so delectable! I am very particular with my matcha but this, was pretty solid ๐๐ป
๐๐ก Strawberry Mochi, 400 yen each ($4 SGD): 8/10
This was a little bit more of a tourist food, being one of the staples to eat at Tsukiji Market. It had a hefty queue but it moved surprisingly fast! Took me about no more than 10 mins to queue, order and get my mochi! The strawberry fruit itself wasnโt the sweetest, but balanced the mochi pretty well!
We ordered 3 flavours in total; ๐Strawberry Cream, ๐ซChocolate and ๐ฐBlack Sesame.
The strawberry cream ๐ was BY FAR my favourite. 9/10.
The strawberry cream filling was sooo creamy, and had the perfect melty texture that just coats your mouth! ๐
The chocolate ๐ซ was pretty alright. The filling was nothing special, it tasted likeโฆ. chocolate. The mochi made it slightly better but it was meh overall.
The Black Sesame ๐ฐ was pretty interesting! The blend of the pasty black sesame filling with the chewy and soft mochi made for a great pair! Got a bit jelak eating it towards the end but overall pretty decent!
โซ๏ธ๐ Black cod, 1000yen for 3 pieces ($10 SGD): 8/10
This was another surprising contender! This fresh fish shop didnโt see the most traffic as it was not on the main street where all the famous stores are!
There was this sweet old japanese man who was running the store that gave us each a HUGE chunk of fish to sample! The moment the fish meat entered my mouth, my eyes widened ๐๐คฏ
The fish was SOOO FLAVOURFUL, and the texture of it was so soft and buttery! It was so juiciest piece of cooked fish I have ever eaten! The meat started to flake apart in my mouth as my tongue danced with it in my mouth. Absolutely stunned me. Only complaint was that the flavourfulness started to overpower me towards finishing my piece. But that is a happy complaint.
