My dog is a dachshund, and as you all know, they stand out for their stubbornness, intelligence, and great personality. Lucas, aside from all those things, also stands out for many other things that make me fall a little more in love with him every day.

🫂Lucas likes to have his personal space, but most of the time, he enjoys physical contact and falling asleep in our arms or relaxing – something he loves, and I can't complain because it has become my favorite moment of the day. I couldn't rest without him in my arms.

🧭Something I adore, although sometimes I hate it, is his stubbornness. He likes to feel in control of every walk and choose the path. This trait of his personality has made us late to a few places, but good things are worth waiting for, and Lucas can be very persistent in getting what he wants. And we love it because with persistence, anything is achievable. Never change, Lucas!

🧸Lucas needs to grab a toy every time he comes back from a walk and heads to the kitchen to ask for food. I don't know if it's a barter system he invented over the years, but whenever he's not eating or sleeping, he has a toy in his mouth. It's the most adorable thing one can imagine.

🗣️Although Lucas is a very calm dog, whenever he's excited and happy, he likes to bark to show us how content he is. He also resorts to his beautiful big-dog bark when he demands food and we don't serve it right away... as I said, he's very persistent.

🧠Every day after his nap, when he wakes up, he runs to his playroom with the question, "Are we going to play?" He already knows it's time to play his interactive games to train his intelligence – probably one of his favorite moments of the day.

😒The side-eye cannot be missed, the look he gives when he feels the need to let you know that he is the king of the house and/or disapproves of the absurd things we do...

👑With other dogs or people, he must be the one in charge and the leader of the group, or he won't be your best friend. This is why Lucas has only managed to have one best friend. If you don't give him the necessary attention or you show more interest in someone else, he doesn't care but will continue on his way. He's not jealous, he just knows his worth and doesn't expect less.

🦍Lucas is afraid of very few things, but you will never see him cowering no matter how jittery he is inside. He always tries to appear brave.
