My rhinoplasty experience 👃🏻

I did my rhinoplasty on April 2023 alone in Korea. Just sharing some of my experience and tips!

I did a lot of research on different clinics through different channels (might share more about this next time) BUT I highly recommended to collate pictures of the type of nose you want before your consultation with your doctors. I wanted a more natural straight nose (직반), best to educate yourself with the different kinds of nose shapes and tell the doctor what you do NOT want.

As Korea is known for their many many many photobooths, I went crazy taking pics to remember my old nose 🫣

After waking up from my surgery, I walked alone for 30 mins back to my Airbnb. Grabbed coffee on the way because my mouth so dry and ate Mcd that was located near my Airbnb 🍔🍟🥤 I booked an Airbnb in Gangnam area bc all the clinics that I was interested in were all located in Gangnam!

Everything was okay, I was not in pain UNTIL it was time to sleep… I was bleeding through my nostrils hence I had to change my gauze often. I couldn’t breathe through my nose and had to breathe through my mouth which made my mouth so so dry. I couldn’t sleep well and prayed that the 2-3 days can pass by quickly so that the clinic can remove whatever was in my nose that prevented me to breathe 🥲 yes, I cried. Not from the pain (bc there was no pain) but from not being able to sleep 🫠

Post op day 1 and 2, I had to go back to clinic to get IV drips to prevent infection. The needle insertion was not painful..but the liquid running through my body is traumatising to me that I even asked with teary eyes if I can don’t do the IV drip 😅 I was silently crying throughout the IV duration 🥲

Something that nobody told me or didn’t see anyone mention was that I needed to use this nose sweeper thing. It was amusing tho, seeing big thick mucus mixed with dried blood coming out of my nostrils 😳 disgusting but amusing 🫣

It’s now May 2024, I did my surgery end April 2023. A lot of people complimented my nose and asked for my clinic’s name… BUT

MY CLINIC CLOSED DOWN 😳

I heard of a very big botched case from them a month or two after my surgery.. wonder if it’s bc of that and/or other botched cases…

Grateful my nose is fine tho 😅..I think
