acne gave me a LIFE 💌

wanting a quick fix ruined my skin, but gave me a life, yes you heard me right.

here’s how i had terrible acne, to fixing it & eventually having my own little homebased facial place (shufti.co!) 🫶🏼

so to get to how all of this started, it was back during my skincare journey when i was feeling utter shit. i rmb having such fuss less skin that i can just use tap water to run through, no pimples AT ALL, then all of a sudden BAM! my friends were asking what happened, which was my wake up call as i felt noticed for the wrong reasons🥹

then i was squeezing my own pimples and scratching my acne areas whenever it itches (yes even if im out & about) & to counter that i started spamming exfoliation EVERYDAY, applying hydrating mask almost 2x a day EVERYDAY without proper cleansing😑 i was so desperate for it to be better it took a toll & got worse, which i blamed on the products LOL😂

fast forwarded i was already hopeless (like id just wear mask and wait for time to pass), which was when i thought id give skincare some reading, get to know the proper ways etc. & picked up guasha from my mum (which has been doing for years) at this point, i was expecting nothing so as to not be disappointed even if there’s no improvements. I sticked to rlly basic skincare steps, no fancy serums whatsoever (yet) & diligently self guasha.

and as every disney movie, it eventually got better. THEN WORSE. then better✨ THEN WORSE👹 and it went back-and-forth along my 2years skincare journey. it was honestly the most mentally draining journey, but looking back it’s rlly #WorthIt 😭

so my skin got better, i stopped wearing masks.

and so friends started asking & i DELIVERED🥂. (no la haha just told them what i did & what i used) & it was so shiok bc i would get them to take before & after photos too, and we’ll compare and like wahhhhh~ together hehe😛

and then (this is not scripted) i was out and i saw this boylie that had rlly bad skin, & i rlly wanted to approach him to help him. but i didn’t have the guts & up till now i always wonder if i would’ve made a difference to his life if i did approach then🥹 but too bad loh… so then i picked up more & got friends to let me guasha for them, and slowly started my baby (shufti.co) 🫶🏼

another fast forward till today (ok not literally today la but 2024~) im super grateful for the handful fistful pocketful of shufti fam that trusts me with their skincare, & all the comparisons rlly just damn shook!!!! 🤩 just JOKES but 4th picture i CHOKED while editing bc wtf was the set up in 2022??? minimalistic??? LOL🤣

anyways, i rlly feel that looking back my crazy acne that caused me so much emotional rollercoaster actlly gave me a life today. (not trying to be cliche but fr tho!) i get to continue my own selfcare, and help others along this journey! also i get to ID my own facial place + design stupid posters for our socials HEHEHE!
