zha xi de lei pals, hello 4,380m above grounds!😭 im super thrilled to share with y’all about this journey as it’s honestly one of the most mind-blowing experience i had so far in life🥹

honestly, i’ve never heard of this place before, if not for the jio to visit lhasa, tibet together with my mother’s group. i’ve only seen videos on tt about this crazy train ride, but i was just like “oh ok”.

this was a WHOLE experience from the great to the bad, but i guess this balances and adds depth to the trip hm!🤩

starting from the train ride, you’d have to pre-book your tickets (esp if you’re opting fr sleepers!) and get there way before your train boarding time! (as though taking an airplane)

we’ve witnessed many missing their ride just minutes late, which is such a bummer bc you’d have to wait for the next one which may take up to hours!!!🥲 and rlly be mindful of your surroundings bc the locals are rlly experienced and they don’t give two shits about you, and will just squeeze their way through😀

onboard was such a relief! we opted for 4soft sleepers, which was such a GREAT investment! please please please opt fr this if you’re planning on the trip, it’s rlly so #WorthIt 🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼

we went to take a look at the 6sleepers and even 8sleepers cabins and PLEASE OMG it looks MISERABLE! those sleeping on the upper decks had to sit out bc they literally have to bend over to get up, and the ceiling is literally in their face🙂‍↔️ i kid you not!

the overall cleanliness from the bedrooms, to the corridor and toilets were all super acceptable! nothing to complain about tbh! just take note to prepare disposable bedding sheets and some necessities for your own extra safety! 🫧

food wise just pack a ton of singapore goodies to snack on throughout the ride! as the altitude starts increasing, many will definitely feel altitude sickness. & having cup noodles/snacks close to heart rlly makes everything more bearable! but ofc if not, there’s a cafe that sells readily available meals! imo it’s rlly decent tasting, the potato is actlly restaurant standard! and they do cater snacks and will push along cabins for you to purchase! ofc just slightly pricier than on-land, but id give it to them!😙

last last, most important! OXYGEN!

im not sure if seatings cabins has it (i do hope so) but every room & corridor has oxygen provided, so as to help adjust to the altitude! this is so so so helpful as some of us were feeling slightly off, and having it rlly helped us get used to the surroundings!👍🏼

overalls, the scenery was just breathtaking! looking back it rlly brings a smile on my face🥹

and all the yaks and wildlife along the way is such an experience that you’d never witness in sg!

personally id advise those intending to visit to go during the winter when the scenery are all snowy, as it’ll be such a sight especially for us sgreans! (ps just take note to make sure you’re strong enough to withstand the altitude sickness/coldness/car sickness all at one go!)

that’s it! this has been such an experience for me and rlly eye opening!😭 can’t wait to share with yall more about the rest of my #tibet trip!
