Let’s talk about maximalism

Obviously someone talking about my personal style should not affect my mood in anyway. The other day someone told me I have too much stuff in my house, which maybe true for some people. (And I do live in a very small house because of the state of the economy.) and my husband had this house before we met.

My husband has given me free rein to decorate how I want and I appreciate that more than he could possibly imagine. So that leads me into my personal style.

I love maximalism because it has personality. I think it may be a response to all the millennial grey I’ve seen for the last 12 years or so, and I love color and patterns in general. If I see a piece and it has the trifecta of personality, pattern, and color, I’m most likely going to buy it.

I just want to end on the fact that just because you like things doesn’t mean you’re a messy person. If you like something don’t be afraid to show your personal style and let your life and character show through your home. Ditch the grey!! (And if you love that minimalist style you go and decorate that way!)
