Here’s how we created our dream home, starting from a mood board 😉

BEFORE you embark on the journey of home renovation, it's extremely helpful to have a clear vision of what you want (and especially if there’s more than 1 person involved🤪)

Why it helps:

☑️ Mood board encapsulates the ambiance, style, and atmosphere you want to achieve in your dream home

☑️ Every time we make an important decision for our house, we refer back to our mood board!! Be it when we’re choosing our laminates, lights or furniture

1️⃣ Step 1: Define Your Vision

Before you start collecting images and materials, take some time to define your vision for your dream home. Consider the following questions 🤔

- What is the overall style you want to achieve? (e.g., modern, rustic, minimalist)

- What colors and color schemes resonate with you?

- Are there any specific elements or themes you want to incorporate? (e.g., coastal, vintage, industrial)

- What emotions do you want your space to evoke?

2️⃣ Step 2: Gather Inspiration

Once you have a clear vision, it's time to gather inspiration 😎 Start by exploring various sources:

- Pinterest, Instagram and lemon8 were our best friends. Create a Pinterest board and start pinning images that resonate with your vision.

3️⃣ Step 3: Organize Your Ideas

Group similar images together based on themes, colors, or styles - that’s how we found out what we like! 💡

4️⃣ Step 4: Identify Key Elements

Identify the key elements that resonate most with your vision. This might include specific furniture pieces, color palettes, or architectural details. These elements will become the building blocks of your dream home

5️⃣ Step 5: Refine, refine and refine!

Honestly, it’s a dynamic process ⚡️You may find new inspiration along the way or decide to make adjustments to better align with your vision.

All in all.. our mood board was a visual roadmap that kept us focused throughout our renovation 🙃
