Worried about mould infestation?

I've been seeing quite a lot of homes being infested with mould recently, so here are some tips to prevent mould growth.

Ventilation is key in reducing indoor moisture levels and mould spores. If you have a choice during flat selection, choose a north-south facing unit as they generally get more natural wind and better ventilation. If your unit doesn't get much wind flow, you may consider investing in exhaust fans, dehumidifiers, and ceiling fans to help keep the moisture level low!

Never ignore mould issues as they are harmful to your health. Constant exposure to mould can cause itch, sneezing, nasal congestion, breathing difficulties, infections, and can even be deadly in serious cases!! Check your ceilings and wooden furniture frequently for any signs of mould e.g. yellow/brown/black spots.

You may have to engage a professional to get rid of the existing mould infestation before starting the preventive measures. If possible, I would recommend discarding furniture that are already infested instead of trying to treat them because mould spores can survive and cause reinfestation.
