yes, the #proposal is all roses and smiles. but once it's over, the real work begins. #BeReal - I hope I didn't miss out any important details, but this was what went on during my #weddingplanning journey.

Mistakes I made [pls avoid doing the same!!!!]

🫠 rushing into finalising my #makeupartist.

this was really miscomm on so many levels and it's my bad. I was communicating with 2 or 3 make-up vendors concurrently. so I mistook vendor A for vendor B and somehow thought the one I wanted wasn't available. so I had to settle for my second option. after making payment for deposit, I realised the principal artist I wanted was available!!! idk why I made such a mistake, I guess I was in a mess.

🫠 lack of thoughts for the gifts meant for #bridesmaids.

gifting has always been my weakness. and despite knowing this, I did not plan earlier. honestly, these are the people who are gonna support you & help you get things done. they helped me with liaising with vendors on timing, settled my recept table, woke up at 3am with me, planned a hotel stay with games omg, checked in on me, entertained my parents who were panicking, ensured smooth wedding flow, mended the recept table on AD, held my sneakers and slippers on AD, perspired buckets to get me dressed, carried heavy bags to have fan, tissue, materials for make up touch ups for me!! [Both PWS and AD], in exchange for my lack of thoughts. man. they didn't complain, at all. but the guilt I felt was real. there's no turning back. #dontworry, sis here paid back using angbao. but nothing beats the thoughts behind the gifts la really T.T

🫠 spending extra #expenses on miscellaneous purchases.

this comes with alot of planning and knowing what you want/need. some of the things include, fake flowers for Deco table, 过大礼 things that could have been bought as a set, push up bra (I thought I needed), idk what else. but honestly all these adds up to around $400++. sis here thought "$50, $20, $60 aiya just buy." NO don't do it. read my post on saving some costs, instead, we can spend on angbaos for loved one's to render help instead!

extra things for you to take note of!

° door gifts and physical wedding invites usually come as a package [from hotel's external vendor]

° it's a lie when vendors tell you "we are having this package now". don't fall into their marketing gimmick!!
