this hotel is only 10min walk from JB sentral!

thinking of staying near JB sentral but don't want to break the bank? consider Fives Hotel Meldrum*! i booked a twin room during the hari raya long weekend (15-16 june) and it was ~$44 per pax (should be much lower if not during peak period). here's my thoughts on the hotel:

space:

quite sufficient for 2! my room had 2 double beds although i opted for twin room (i'm not sure if it is the same for all bookings), so it was quite shiok to have the whole queen bed to myself 🫡 bathroom had showering area separated from the toilet so you won't wet the toilet bowl while showering! there's also a small table for you to dine/work if you need.

amenities:

basic amenities like towel, toothbrush, slipper, hairdryer are all provided. the TV has youtube and many channels (singapore ones included)! the aircon faces the beds so it's very cooling at night. there are also sufficient electrical points for 2. the only thing to highlight is that the sink is abit small so when you wash your face you might splash and also conditioner is not provided so do bring your own if you need!

location:

it is located opposite R&F mall (linked to JB sentral by a bridge) so you can actually walk there after you cross the customs. if you are not a fan of walking, grabbing over is only about 8RM!

price:

i managed to book the room at $87.81, 2 days before the stay - so i think if it was booked earlier and during non peak period, it will be much cheaper!

*do note that they have 2 outlets, the one i went was meldrum! and they require a 100RM deposit in cash so do bring enough cash for the stay!
