Shearing My Experience With Architecture School

Here are the things I wish I knew before attending Architecture School:

🥱Say goodbye to your sleep. Expect to be in school and do homework 15-20 hours of the day x 7

🏟️ People are so competitive and sometimes make unnecessary comparisons

💃 You can pretty much say goodbye to your social life, or daylight or both

👴🏼Your back will hurt like hell from making 3D models

💰It’s expensive, I found myself going to the art store once a week buying new materials

👩‍🏫Sometimes you and your professor will not see eye to eye (to say the least)

🚴‍♀️Commuting to school can get really challenging carrying 3D models and hoping they won’t break on the way (it happens)

📐 it’s tedious, and every f***ing millimeter matters

🏡 By the time you finish a project you will end up hating it so much (and it will go straight in the garbage after presentation)

🗣️ You will have to practice your public speaking skills

🫠 You’ll experience creative burnout and will most likely talk about quitting school 3-4 times a day

Can you tell I had a great time in school? 🤓🥲

It’s an extremely challenging degree! From my specific class we start 19 people and only 8 remind (and some still haven’t graduated) I would recommend to do a lot of research to see if it’s a good fit for you before starting!
