HOW TO STUDY FOR BIOLOGY 🧬🧪🔬

1. TAKE GOOD NOTES!

~ paying attention in class and taking good notes is the first step to doing well in any class! in content heavy stem classes, this principle becomes even more important. personally i come up with questions about the material learned in class and take notes in response to the questions i came up with. find a method that works for you!

2. UTILIZE ACTIVE RECALL

~ active recall is my best friend this semester :) i find that this is often the quickest and more efficient way to study for an exam. staying on top of your readings, making diagrams, and attending office hours is a great way to continuously test your knowledge!

3. LEARN HOW TO USE YOUR TEXTBOOK

~ reading the textbook is boring. soooo boring. instead of wasting energy trying to learn the textbook, learn the MATERIAL and then use the textbook to make better connections/expand your knowledge. i used to spend hours reading the textbook but now i spend around 30 minutes after each lecture figuring out how the examples in the textbook relate to the topics learned in class that day!
