my current favorite study techniques :)

i am well into the semester and i wanted to share some study techniques that have been working for me! i use these methods all the time and structure my study sessions based on what technique i am using.

🎧 sq3r

~ sq3r stands for survey, question, read, recite, and review. it helps you actively comprehend what you are reading. you first skim over the material to get an overview, then create questions and answer them as you read. then you recite what you read about from memory before reviewing any points you might have missed.

🎧 active recall

~ if you’ve ever used quizlet or paper flashcards you know this technique. it’s all about trying to retrieve information you already know, and enhances long term retention of material

🎧 feynman technique

~ this technique forces you to put terms into simple words! by doing so, you demonstrate mastery of the material. something i’ve been doing recently is asking chat gpt to explain difficult concepts to me using the feynman technique and it is sooo helpful 🙂
