Living in a Traditional Hanok in Seoul 🇰🇷

While I was travelling around Seoul, my family decided to try the unique experience of renting a Hanok (traditional Korean housing) for our Airbnb. We found one very near the Gyeongbokgong Palace and the station, and it was such a lovely experience that I thought I’d share more.

📝 What I did:

While I can’t remember where my aunt booked it from, I reckon it was from Airbnb and it was a three bedroom apartment. Usually they would renovate the Hanok so there are facilities and amenities that are more catered to modern needs, such as air-conditioners, a newer kitchen, and proper toilets. It was also such a quaint neighbourhood so there’s that to take in every morning as you leave the apartment too. Of course, you gotta do your part and keep the noise levels down, so it’s perfect for families and maybe lesser so for friend groups who wanna party.

Would 100% recommend traditional living experiences if you could! The mattresses were also thick enough so it felt very comfortable. Just do give the facilities list a check when you book one online, so you know exactly what you’re going to expect - we didn’t realize one room had no airconditioned, so that’s something to look out for!
