SEOUL: COEX cafe that isn’t Starbucks

heya lemon8 peeps it’s me again! my boyfriend and I decided to explore COEX Mall for the first time in seoul after visiting the COEX Aquarium (more on this in another post 😚). we were actually looking for a place to rest & for a tea break cos our legs got pretty tired in the huge aquarium.

for those who don't know, COEX mall is super huge - it has a open concept library as well as an aquarium! you can definitely spend an entire day just at COEX.

we came across Gabaedo, a top floor cafe near starfield library with a huge cosy central sofa seats & other sophiscated private seats. we were super attracted to their tiramisu & of course the vibes so we decided to give it a try!

the cafe was indoors but was on the top floor so there was nice natural light which made the atmosphere really nice. we noticed that it was constantly packed but it's not noisy so I loved that. we got the choco tiramisu for 7,000 won (~ SGD7.60) - it has lots of cream cheese and not too sweet, the way I like it. the taste of the cream cheese is quite rich so it did overpower the choco for me (wish I got matcha instead!) I recommend to share it else it might be too much to finish for one person without getting gelat. they also serve coffee and tea which I read some good reviews about but we didn't get one ourselves cos we were only craving tiramisu. the good thing is: they don't chase their customers! you will see people working or studying too.

we then learned that Gabaedo is originated from Japan, which explains the interior. it is a highly raved brand in Korea & there are other outlets in Seoul too.

if you're at COEX & wanna find a place to rest your legs or grab a cuppa from a place that's not Starbucks, definitely check this aesthetic place out!
