Japan is known for its capsule hotels, where the setting is communal like a hostel, but the sleeping arrangements are solo sleeping ‘pods.’

Since I’m in my 30s now, I wanted to avoid traditional, budget-friendly hostels that might be more aimed towards socializing and nightlife. This led me to The Millennials, Shibuya.

This property put a high-tech spin on the traditional capsule hotels, offering reclining beds and iPod-controlled lighting.

MY HONEST REVIEW ✨

The Millennials Shibuya gave me the exact experience I sought: a unique capsule hotel experience with a modern spin. And just as important to me, all the facilities and shared spaces were kept clean, and the sleeping floors had a strict quiet rule. The reception level offers opportunities for those who do want to socialize, with complimentary drinks each evening.

I was out and about all day, so most of my time spent here was to shower and sleep. With the busy schedule, the capsule hotel worked out great. If I were in Tokyo with more downtime in a room, I’d probably opt to stay somewhere else where I have more private space.
